“The Great Goddess Calls Her Daughters:
Wisdom of the Divine Feminine for Today’s World”

The following excerpt from "The Great Goddess Calls Her Daughters" is on the theme of Awareness.

Great Sophia, bring to this world your wisdom. Open our hearts and minds to greater Awareness. Bring your greater consciousness to each of us. We ask you this now, Great Mother, Great Mother Wisdom, Great Mother Sophia, Great Mother Awareness. We ask you, awaken the Awareness in each of us.

She comes, a radiant golden light, a golden flame that burns eternally at the heart of the bewilderment, confusion and pain of ignorance.

She says: Oh, my daughters, imagine me now as that golden flame in your very own heart. The light of Awareness lives, glows, radiates from the depth of your being, is always there to guide you, is your inner wisdom, your inner knowing, your consciousness, that consciousness that is not yours alone, that is also the divine consciousness. The God in you is the Goddess in you. The Goddess in you is the Awareness in you. The Divine in you is the Consciousness in you.

Stop for a moment now and ask yourself: who is reading these words? Who is reflecting on their meaning? Who is experiencing emotion, judgment, insight, as a result of reading these words? Take a moment to feel the miracle of your own perception, your own sensation, your own thought, your own feeling. Each sense is a miracle, a doorway into greater Consciousness. That very Consciousness in you that questions "who am I "what is God "what is the meaning of life? "that Consciousness is God, you and  is the meaning of life. Treasure it then, my daughters, nurture it, sustain it. Visualize and imagine the God-Consciousness as the golden flame within your heart. Its light radiates throughout the body. In each cell is that golden flame. In each thing, animate and inanimate, is that golden flame.

Oh, my daughters, your Awareness is the great divine Awareness that created all creation. There is no separation between you and God, between you and the Great Mother, between you and Me, between you and your essential self. Breathe with Awareness. Live with Awareness. Then you are in touch with the Divine. As you sit quietly and you bring your attention to your breath, notice that you are aware of your breath. Notice that you are aware of being aware of your breath. Notice how the field of Awareness expands, how your Awareness ripples out endlessly into the universal Awareness. This is what you are: Awareness contained in and embraced by Awareness, contained in and embraced by yet a greater Awareness. Awareness within Awareness within Awareness, this is your nature. You can feel it in a moment if you sit down quietly. What a blessing it is!

In many people that light, the golden flame, burns low, is obscured by ignorance and confusion, greed and anger, by fear. As you affirm that Awareness within, as you visualize it, you feed the flame. The light grows stronger and becomes something that cannot be overwhelmed by the forces of the outer world, that cannot be consumed by the anger, greed, and ignorance around it, that cannot flicker. This takes time, my daughters. This takes time and attention. If you sit quietly with that experience of Awareness within Awareness then after a while you begin to feel it in your day-to-day life. As you begin to feel it in your day-to-day life, you begin to live from it. You begin to live in it. You begin to live your true nature.

Oh my daughters, what a wonderful, painful, joyous process this is, the constant birth of Awareness into the world, moment after moment after moment, the Divine Child of Awareness. This Divine Child knows itself, loves itself in all its many manifestations. This Divine Child is born through you and in you with every moment of Awareness. Do not despair, my daughters, on your journey into Awareness. It can seem long and arduous and lonely. Do not despair, my daughters, of this world and its ignorance and blindness. That golden flame of Awareness burns eternally. It cannot be extinguished. And so my daughters I say to you: in your most difficult moments, have faith in that Awareness within you. Turn to it. Invite greater Awareness. Invite Me, the Great Mother Awareness, the Great Mother Sophia, to embrace your struggle, your confusion. Awareness within Awareness within Awareness. You live in the very heart of the Great Awareness. The Great Awareness lives in your heart.

She comes as Lilith, the Black Mother, She who was cast out. She comes as the heretic, the whore, She who has been judged. She comes as Eve, She who takes the blame, and She says:

I will speak now of judgment.

As I perceive what limits you, my daughters, I see your tendency to sit in judgment upon yourself. Think. Why is this pattern so strong in you? You know it in yourself, each of you. You see how limiting it is, and yet, you persist in this judgment.  Of course. You have been judged. For many hundreds of years now you have been judged. You have been told that you are lesser, that you are not important, that you must not speak. You have only one role. You have been told that you must deny your very nature and allow yourself to be ruled by the male. You have been judged by so many men; you have been judged by fathers, priests, rulers, and husbands, by courts and churches, judges and kings.  For many centuries now you have taken the blame for the suffering of humanity. Oh, my daughters, think on it well. Think of the irony. A man stands in the pulpit of a church or temple, clothed in white or black. The year could be any year of the last two or three or four thousand. And he says because of Eve, humanity must suffer. It is the will of God. Feel how you have borne the weight of that judgment for such a long time.

And then, outside the church, the battles rage, the wars go on, the innocent are killed, fields are trampled, the earth is polluted. The women watch, and mourn, and weep. Over and over and over they are told, this is your fault.

You have internalized the belief there is something wrong with you, that you are always at fault, and that the mistakes you make will lead to disaster and destruction. This belief is deeply rooted in the feminine consciousness. Oh, my daughters, release it. Let it go. It is not a mistake to seek after wisdom and knowledge. That quest is not the cause of humanity’s suffering. Humanity suffers because it has been disconnected from its source, because it has denied the wisdom of the tree that grows from the earth, that is rooted in the earth, that bears the fruit of the earth.

When you see that pattern of self-judgment arise, when you make a mistake and spend hours, or even days, punishing yourself, when you tell yourself over and over "I’ll never be able to do it. I can’t possibly do it. I am not good enough and I will never be good enough" "take a moment and sit down and reflect. Where does this pattern come from? Where does this belief system come from?  What is this voice that is always judging you? You may see a father, a mother, or a teacher. In each of your lives there will be many possible sources for that voice. If you go deeper you will recognize that voice as the voice of a society, a culture, that has for many millennia rejected you, blamed you, and de-valued you.

To reclaim your sense of worth, to be able to value yourself, you must reclaim your love of wisdom, your desire for knowledge. As you reclaim your love of wisdom, your desire for knowledge, as your birthright, your heritage, your God-given nature, then you begin to understand more, to see more, to trust your understanding. You begin to value yourself more. When this self-judgment arises you are able to see yourself in a greater context, in a larger picture -- not alone, struggling to succeed, to overcome your limitations, but together with your sisters seeking to reclaim your love of knowledge and wisdom.

This is not easy. The judgments that have been made upon you lie deep within you.

She says: Let me take them from you now. Imagine me before you, clothed in my robe of stars, standing upon the crescent moon, with open hands. I say, give me those old beliefs that you do not need any more. Discard them. I will receive them. I will release them. "If I make a mistake, it will lead to terrible disaster. I must never make a mistake." Hand me that belief. Watch it in my hands transform itself into a white dove that flies away freed from old bondage. That white bird returns and settles near you, on your shoulder, a piece of your spirit freed from chains and returned to you. In the place of that belief, the dove whispers in your ear: "Don’t be afraid. Take risks. Move ahead, trusting your wisdom, your knowing."

"I will never be able to do it. I will never be good enough." Hand me that belief. Put it now in my outstretched hands. Again watch it transform into a dove that flies to your other shoulder, a piece of your spirit released from its chains and returned to you. The dove whispers in your ear. "Wisdom, power, strength and beauty are your nature. Don’t be afraid".

Hand them all to me, my daughters. "I am ugly."  "I am stupid." "I never say the right thing". "I will never find my true love because no one could possibly ever love me". Hand them all to me and see the flock of doves that circles around you, your spirit returning to you, your strength returning to you. It is your nature to seek wisdom and knowledge. It is your nature to bring wisdom and knowledge. Wisdom and knowledge free you from all self-limitation and self-judgment.

Go, my daughters. Move freely in the world, knowing your worth, free from those old beliefs, from the judgments that have been placed upon you.

The following is an excerpt from Chapter Three, "Elements and Directions" in which the Great Goddess speaks of the meaning and gifts of the four elements earth, air, fire and water, and the directions, north, south, east, west, and center. I share this message about the Center to help us all keep our center in challenging times. I appreciate feedback and responses to these messages of the Great Goddess. With best wishes for the new year…Donna.

The Great Goddess dwells always at the Center, the heart, the source. She emerges now to speak of the Center, the heart, the source. She says:

My daughters, you dwell at the Center of the Universe, the heart of all that is, the source. As you face the North, the South, the East, the West, whichever way you turn, wherever you face, you are always at the Center. You carry the Center within you. Where you are is the Center, always. To remember this, take a breath and bring your attention to your navel. Feel that Center. Take another breath and bring your attention to your heart. Take another breath and return your attention to the navel. With your attention at the navel, you are connected to the source.

My daughters, carry this awareness of the Center, and you are at the Center. Where your attention dwells, you dwell. The sacred circle is your own energy field, and the Center of that sacred circle is your own heart-navel. The Center of that sacred circle is your consciousness of that circle and that Center. The Center of the circle is your own remembering: "Wherever I am, I am always at the Center of all that is."

It is the great paradox, my daughters, that each of you dwells in that Center, in an infinite universe of infinite directions and infinite Center. What a beautiful place this Universe is, what a wondrous world. And my daughters, what a wonder each of you are, so intimately a part of this wondrous Universe, dwelling in the Center, breathing in the Center, moving from the Center, blessed and protected by the North, the South, the East and the West. Oh my daughters, as you honor the Center you honor yourself. The gift of the Center, my daughters, is to be exactly who you are and where you are in this moment, and to feel your strength, to know that you cannot be moved from your Center no matter what is happening around you.
