Strength and Power

Check this page every month for a message from the greater Awareness and a new meditation to try as you choose.

It is a time for questioning the nature of power, one's relationship to power, the nature of strength. What is true strength? What is true power?

Throughout the world today one sees the abuse of power. Take time to ask yourself, "What is my power? How do I express it in the world? How do I hold back? What is the proper use of power?" Take time to ask yourself, "What is my strength? How do I express that strength? How do I hold myself back? Is it possible that what I perceive as weakness is really strength?"

The themes of strength and power play themselves out over and over in so many places, so many relationships. Different powers oppose each other, take sides against each other, and exist in conflict and opposition. There are power struggles everywhere, at the global level, the national level, within the family, within intimate relationship and within yourself.

You may feel as though different sides of yourself are struggling to gain supremacy, to be in charge. You may feel as though there are battles going on within yourself that are as intense as the battles brewing or raging in the outside world.

How do you bring the power of a peaceful mind to that battle?

Please consider the possibility that there is no greater power in the world than that of love and awareness and understanding. That power is not attached to victory, or domination, or control. It is unconditional. It thrives under any circumstance -in the darkest prison or in the most beautiful freedom.

In a world full of conflict and opposing forces, all claiming to be the true power, you can choose to feel weak, powerless and overwhelmed, in constant opposition to that world around you, or you can choose to find your own strength and power, your own love and awareness. You can choose to feel that you have no choice, that everything is out of your control. Or you can choose to feel that you have every choice, constant choice, every moment.

Strength and power. Question. Reflect. Contemplate. Understand.

May all beings be happy, peaceful and free of suffering.
