Dear Friends, since receiving this message in my meditations I have been reflecting on its significance for me. Many spiritual traditions have the practice of continuous prayer. As I carry on this practice I realize the prayer becomes a ground, a constant undercurrent in my life. It doesn’t mean I am a saint and walk around always loving everybody, never getting angry and always doing the right thing. It means I return to the prayer over and over. It means the Awareness of the prayer returns in the midst of turmoil and upset. The prayer gives me strength and guidance in situations that require confrontation and clarity. I take to heart the statement that we all need to join together in this practice continuously, that days or hours or special times of people coming together will not bring transformation to the consensus reality of this plane of existence. I encourage you to join in this practice now and to pass the suggestion on to others. With love and best wishes, I give you what the Awareness has to say this autumn…Donna.

Continuous prayer is not as difficult as it sounds. All existence is in connection at all times with the Divine; prayer therefore is the process of remembering your innate, inherent connection to the Divine, the light within you, the Divine Intelligence within you that is you, that guides you.

At this time in history the practice of remembering, of continuous prayer, is a very wonderful practice. As people join together in this practice, they enter the stream of love, Awareness, balance, harmony, light and peace. They begin to experience on a daily, moment-to-moment basis, that Divine Intelligence. Many people ask, to whom am I praying? You may call the Divine by any name. There are so many manifestations of Divine Intelligence. As people enter that stream, as your consciousness consciously joins with the stream of Greater Awareness, that stream is strengthened, it flows with greater ease, purpose and effectiveness in this world, which so much needs Greater Awareness at this point in its history.

Often people have created projects, days, moments, when people all over the world will pray or meditate together to bring peace, or enlightenment, or transformation to the world. This is wonderful, but as you have noticed, a day, a moment, a special time, is not going to be enough. What is needed is a continuous sense of Presence, of the Divine, the Greater Awareness in which you all live and have your being. Then transformation truly begins.

Choose your prayer according to the affinity of your heart and spirit:  May all beings be happy, peaceful, and free of suffering, a Divine name, Jesus, Mary, Tara, Avalokiteshvara, the name of a saint, a word, peace, love, awareness, joy. There is an ancient Celtic prayer: Peace be with you, peace be in you, peace be all around you. There are so many prayers, and then there is the prayer that arises from your heart, in your unique words. Take some time to meditate with your prayer, to feel the light within you, the stream of greater Awareness, the flow of Divine Intelligence, the great mystery and wonder of this universe. Make a commitment to carry that prayer always. Retreat into it during the day, take time to return to it, think of it when your mind is unsettled and worried, distracted by the events of the world, or your life. Don’t be discouraged if you lose it, just return to it, notice how it becomes the ground of your being, the expression of your soul in this world.  It is not a prayer for something you expect to happen tomorrow or the next day. Your being becomes soaked in the vibration of the prayer. If you pray “May all beings be happy, peaceful and free of suffering,” it obviously doesn’t mean that any time soon all beings are going to experience this. However, you become a vessel through which that prayer is continuously entering the great flow of existence. Your being continually radiates the vibration of happiness, peacefulness, and freedom from suffering, out into this vast universe, and also whatever you pray you will receive back, in many ways, small and large.

May all beings be happy, peaceful and free of suffering.
